The Housing Committee, made up of University of Houston SJP and NSJP members, recommends working out your housing by Friday, October 13th, our solidarity housing deadline. After that date, we will no longer be able to take solidarity housing requests, and most nearby hotels will likely be booked. Below are different forms of housing available during the conference.
Price: completely free!
We encourage conference attendees to stay in solidarity housing. We are excited to take in incredible activists and we hope this will make the conference a more affordable experience.
With support from UofH SJP friends, allies, and local pro-Palestine groups, we will try our best to accommodate all those who request solidarity housing. However, we need you to fill out this form by October 13th.
Book a hotel
Price: about $60-$130 per night
A list of the addresses, rates, and transportation time/mode for eight nearby hotels is coming soon.
We do not recommend Airbnb.
There is an active boycott campaign targeting Airbnb by a coalition of Palestine solidarity and Palestinian organizations.
"Over 150,000 people around the world have joined with a coalition of human rights and corporate responsibility groups to demand that Airbnb immediately end the illegal practice of listing vacation rentals in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank. Affordable housing and anti-gentrification activists across the country are also protesting Airbnb and its policies, which often drive property values up in working class neighborhoods, pushing families out of their homes."
